Parents & Carers

 Parents, Teachers and Friends Association

The PTFA is made up of parents, carers, teachers and friends of Bampton School with an interest in raising funds for equipment, resources and activities not already covered by the School budget.

We meet twice termly to discuss  how we as a school community can develop and improve school facilities and student opportunities. Through planning fundraising events such as “Bampton School’s Got Talent”, the Christmas Bazaar, Easter Eggstravaganza, end of term discos and the Summer Fete, we raise lots of money which we can then plough back into enhancing the children’s experiences.

We welcome new members and are hoping for more support in the coming months. If you can help in any way, or would like more information on the work we do then please contact ………. or look out for meeting dates on this page on the school website, posters or for notes your childs bookbag.

Clothing collection:

The ‘Rag Bag’ recycling bin no longer collects. However, we have arranged a new company to collect unwanted clothing and textiles for recycling. Please look out for the collection sacks in book bags, with instructions on where to leave them. We trialed this new system this month, and received a cheque from the company for £32.

The new scheme for old clothes is:

Bag2School is a free fundraising scheme which collects unwanted textiles in good condition which are sold to export markets worldwide. The school gets paid £400 per tonne.

An estimated £140 million worth (£350,000 tonnes) of used clothing goes to landfill in the UK every year!

You can donate the following ‘good quality’ items for RE-USE:

  • Men’s, Ladies and Children’s clothing

  • Paired shoes (tied together or elastic band around)

  • Handbags

  • Hats

  • Bags

  • Scarves and ties

  • Jewellery

  • Lingerie

  • Belts

  • Soft toys

Once each half term, we will send bags home with the collection date on them. Please drop your bags under the bicycle cover on the morning of the collection. Our first collection made £32, thanks to you all. Ok, its not a fortune, but – that’s £256 per year!

Thanks for your support, you can clear out that cupboard and raise funds for your kiddiwinks as well.
